The Poison Desert is the fifth area in the game. It ranges from the campsite near the river in the south to the campsite inside the sand castle to the north. Exploring the surroundings you can find 2 Collectible Fruits, 3 Stacks of Cans, and 4 Graffiti among several unique setpieces such as giant naked women, an empty pool, some cacti, and even a sand castle.
This graffiti is located on the south side wall within the hole before the second sandy staircase. It's visible from above. The image shown has the Nudity setting turned on to prevent spoilers. Turn the Nudity setting off to see the unique artwork.
These cans are located to the west of the hole before the second sandy staircase.
Start on the west end and spiral around to the east end.
The crux is getting the foot onto this small white line and then stepping up on it gently enough where it doesn't pop off.
Gently move the right foot over the top and step up.
This cutscene is triggered by climbing to the top of the second sandy staircase.
Get on the Kart with your legs spread a bit. As it gains speed, tap the analog stick in the direction you want to steer the Kart. Steer to the end of the Karting Track where the "Sleepy Lady" dunes are.
The ice cream wagon is located near Minor Cactus Hell. From the Sleeping Woman dunes, you can see it up on the hill. Take the shortest path from there to reach it.
You need to deliver the Ice Cream to the fire tower before it melts. You have only ten attempts. Every failure leads to a new cutscene including an eleventh “Out of Stock” cutscene which locks you out from getting the achievement.
Below, I'll post the easiest way to deliver the Ice Cream, but if you want a real challenge, climb the artifical rock wall to deliver the Ice Cream. Make sure to check out the graffiti either way you choose.
To start, go up the slope with all the small cactus and turn left. Pass the sandy stairs and continue up to some ruins to the north.
Climb atop the stones to find a hole that leads down. Hop in, swim across, and climb back out on the other side.
Once out, cross the sand and head beneath the bridge to your left.
Once through, you'll see some white fluid. Get on and follow it all the way to the end.
Now, just go straight toward the fire tower.
I dropped my Ice Cream several times and I still made it, so don't beat yourself up if you drop it.
This graffiti is located southwest of the "Holy Bucket," on the ceiling of a waterway. The image shown has the Nudity setting turned on to prevent spoilers. Turn the Nudity setting off to see the unique artwork.
This artificial rock wall is located a few paces east of the ice cream wagon. Climb it, I guess.
This graffiti is located near the top of the artificial rock wall. The image shown has the Nudity setting turned on to prevent spoilers. Turn the Nudity setting off to see the unique artwork.
It's located above Minor Cactus Hell... but you already knew that.
This graffiti is located atop the mountain north of the fire tower. The image shown has the Nudity setting turned on to prevent spoilers. Turn the Nudity setting off to see the unique artwork.
To the north of the fire tower is a slippery path to the top of the mountain. This is the easiest way to the top.
Another way to get to the top is around the mountain's western side. It's scarier, but a lot more fun.
These cans are located south of the fire tower atop a sandy ridge. You'll need to cross a slippery slope to reach them.
(This cutscene is triggered by trying to climb out of the pool west of the fire tower, near Major Cactus Hell.
These cans are located on the plank below the sandy ridge. You can spot them up high from the empty pool. To reach them, circumnavigate the ridge to get above them counter-clockwise. Then, slide down to the ledge and walk across the plank.
The odd-looking cactus is located near the top of the stone steps in Major Cactus Hell. Head north from the ridge above the pool to find the area.
This cutscene is triggered by touching the giant blue bucket on the mound northwest of Major Cactus Hell.
Zig-zag up the stone steps on the west side to reach the blue bucket.
Jim will have words for you.
This cutscene is triggered by gaining the short end of the ridge near the giant sand head, and then following it up and around to reach Mike.
Circumnavigate the sandy ridge, then slide down to the arm.
Cross the arm, and then slide down the hand to find Mike.
The Mango is located above the Slippery Slope in the east. You'll have to negotiate the sand to reach it.
This sign les at the bottom of the Slippery Slope. Find the least slippery path up. The lighter colored sand has more grip.
Once near the top, circumnavigate the hill to reach the Mango.
This graffiti is located atop the small sandcastle near the milk stream. The image shown has the Nudity setting turned on to prevent spoilers. Turn the Nudity setting off to see the unique artwork.
On the north side of the milk stream, head up the sandy ridge to get on top of the sandcastle.
The graffiti is on the ground. It's... yeah.
The Fig is located above the red Holy Bucket, hanging from a tree.
Spiral around the slopes to reach the Red Bucket.
The easiest way to get up the steep sections of sand are to step the left foot into the corners.
When you get inside the bucket, start at the end of the stones on the ground.
Watch your knees and hips throughout this climb. When you get to the ramp stone, don't be tempted. Instead, use the block on the right.
This graffiti is located in the upper doorway of the spiral staircase near the sand castle. The image shown has the Nudity setting turned on to prevent spoilers. Turn the Nudity setting off to see the unique artwork.
This cutscene is triggered by answering the Payphone high on the mound above the spiral staircase.
Go right out of the castle's spiral staircase and climb the slippery slope. Traverse north and then come back around up the hill.
When you get close, this Payphone should start ringing.
The yellow shovel bridge is located south of the sand castle above a small hand-shaped pond. It's the easiest way to reach the sand castle. If it falls while crossing it, it will reset eventually.
